로컬은 전진하고 있다. 서울에 집중된 매체들이 무관심으로 일관하고 있지만 부산의 과매기는 확실히 자신의 존재를 드러내고 있고 광주 중심의 남서부는 Betty Ass를 필두로 Summer Never Comes, Monkey Pee Quartet 등 확연한 성과가 나타나고 있다. 그리고 드디어 남서부 쪽에서도 헤비니스 계열의 성과물이 나왔다. 바로 Sever The Ear.

광주를 중심으로 부산, 전주 등 활발한 활동을 진행해오던 Polymorph는 점점 더 헤비해지는 음악 스타일에 맞춰 수년 간 유지해오던 이름을, 리스너들의 귀를 시원하게 뚫어버리겠다는 의미의 Sever The Ear로 바꾸고 첫 번째 EP인 [H:Ear]를 발매한다.

남서부를 대표하는 익스트림 공연인 Alive Inside에 참여한 것을 위시로 과매기, All I Have, End These Days 등 로컬 신의 대표적인 헤비니스 계열의 밴드들과 교류를 해오던 Sever The Ear는 자신들의 음악적 방향을 발전시켜 나갔고, 트랜디함과 진중함을 동시에 성취하기 위한 고민의 흔적을 담은 첫 앨범이 바로 [H:Ear]이다.

이번 앨범 [H:Ear]는 다양한 음악적 사운드를 바탕으로 청춘들이 흔히 경험하는 일회성 사랑, 자살로 인해 상처받은 사람들의 이야기 등 자신들이 바라보는 세상을 솔직하게 담아 낸 가사로 그들만의 목소리를 표현했다.

분노할 수 밖에 없는 청춘들은 자신의 목소리를 더욱 더 크게 질러댄다. 그리고 여기 자신의 목소리를 가장 절실히 절러대고 있는 한 밴드의 이야기를 들어보자. Sever The Ear!
